Elctronic Verification Code called as EVC is a 10 digit alpha numeric code which would verify the identity of the person who is filing the income tax return in India.
The EVC could be used to verify ITR 1 (Sahaj) / ITR 2 / ITR 2A / ITR 3 / ITR 4 /ITR 4S (Sugam).
It is a unique code and One EVC generation for One PAN.
The EVC is valid for 72 hours but it can be generated various times through various modes.
In case of the tax returns are already filed or uploaded, the verification needs to be done within 120 days of filing of return.
We can generate EVC through the folllowing methods
- through e-filing website-filing website
- through Linking Aadhaar Card with PAN
- through Bank ATM (Automatic Teller Machine)
- through Net Banking Facility
